Directions to visit
Located less than one hour north of Boston, MA, one hour south of Portland, ME, and less than five hours from New York City, the Seacoast is easy to get to – but hard to leave!
The Seacoast is accessible by bus, plane, train, and automobile. Come discover what Travel Channel’s TV Personality, Samantha Brown loves about her native town New Castle, NH and the surrounding coast.
Automobile – Interstate 95 and US Route 1 are an easy drive from the north and south. NH Route 101, a four-lane divided highway, provides access from the west. Boats are best for traveling from the east.
Air –The Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM) offers domestic service from Portsmouth to Florida and Myrtle Beach through Allegiant Air, and Savannah, GA and Hilton Head. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is located about 50 miles west of Portsmouth and offers convenient and “hassle-free” service from major US cities. Boston‘s Logan Airport (BOS) is about an hour south of Portsmouth, providing service from major national and international cities.
C & J Bus Lines offers regularly scheduled motorcoach service from Boston’s Logan Airport and South Station to Portsmouth. C&J also operates an executive coach three times daily between New York City’s Port Authority and Portsmouth. Upon arrival at the C&J terminal at Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth, COAST trolley service is available to take visitors to downtown stops.

Train – Amtrak’s DownEaster services are available from Boston and Portland, ME to nearby Exeter, Dover and Durham, NH.
Boat – Marinas for docking your boat are available in Portsmouth, New Castle, Newington and Hampton, NH, as well as Kittery, ME.
The Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth is a year-round visitor information center conveniently located just off I-95 NH Exit 7, at 500 Market Street. Our Visitor Assistants will be happy to offer suggestions, directions and information during our hours of business (Tues-Sat), 10 AM- 3 PM) and extended seasonal hours (Memorial Day to Columbus Day: Sat. 10 AM- 3 PM and closed Sun. If your trip puts you into Portsmouth outside of our business hours, you may obtain information in our foyer, open 24 hours. Rest rooms are available during open hours.
The Chamber also operates the Market Square Information Kiosk, open daily mid-May through mid-October, 10 AM- 5 PM.
